Why did you choose Animas?
---
I chose Animas because not only was I looking for an academic curriculum that fits me, but also because I wanted to find my kind of people. I wanted to find a sense of belonging and community. Which I was quickly absorbed into.

About Me
---
Hello! My name's Devin, or Dev. I am a senior ambassador for Animas High School and I have a huge love for retro y2k themed products, like Windows XP, Vista, and 7! I am a warrior cats kid, and grew up on the internet. So I probably would know a random vine quote from years ago. I love anything that relates to the brain, especially chemical compounds. I am hoping to get my bachelors in psychology and move to specialize in neurology to become a neurologist or neurosurgeon!

During my Junior year, AHS released the new (and improved...) Osprey blocks! These blocks last for a span of 3 weeks, and consist of teamwork based projects of a multitude of things! For my Junior year, I played as Rosalie Moreau, a tiefling bard with a southern charm. In our school's sponsored series; Roll for Fate. This series was sponsored by the Wizards of the Coast, and can be found on Twitch TV by the same name!
For my Senior year however, I continued my cinema-based trend. For Drew Semel's Osprey Block: Documentaries Untold, I created a documentary focusing on my best friend of 14 years. Indiana Jones, my former barn cat turned indoor cat who I taught to alert me to my health conditions like a service dog. Follow Indiana and I's journey on a furry quest, on how my kittypet turned into a warrior.

The Animas Ambassador program is a program led by Libby Cowles. A social cousin of the Animas High School Student Council, the Ambassadors focus on community outreach and working to get Animas students (and Staff) out and about in the historical town of Durango, and other areas all across colorful Colorado! I lead as a Senior Ambassador during my last year of flight as an osprey, and upon my work, I created Project Feather Falling, a memorial of all of my Animas adventures through a letterman jacket. A story and connection from the nest that can go all over the world and still remind the world of my itty bitty school.

During my Junior year, I got to a internship for our LINK Project, also known as the Animas Leading Internships for New Knowledge Program. This was a mandatory project for juniors to do in order to graduate. LINK is aimed to teach students how to aid in the workplace, since I had family up in French-Canada, I wanted to go up and give our northern neighbours a try! The shelter that aided me in my new journey to the north was ProAnima, the biggest animal shelter support company in the entirety of the Quebecois province! I got to care for our felines, travel Montreal, learn Canadian history, and learn some Canadian French while I was at it!
